Told you so Airbus
The title says it all. A few months ago I wrote a short "executive report" about the long term viability of the Airbus 340-300 (that's a plane by the way) in Air France's fleet. One of my three major points against the A340 (I had no pro points) was the plane was an insurance liability because of it's inability to slow down as quickly in an emergency landing as the Boeing 777-200, it's main competitor.
Lo and behold, an Air France Airbus 340-300 crashed on landing late this afternoon (August 2nd) because it was unable to slow down. The plane subsequently caught fire when it's fuel tanks were discharged in the impact. I'm going to giggle and say I told you so. Casualties unknown.
By the way, Air France is French, and Airbus if 1/3 French... Can't wait to see how the Bush administration is going to deal with this...
Oh, and from now on, all posters will use the spelling "Irak" instead of "Iraq"

That's why Boeing kicks ass. Can you believe I'm going to get a job! As a cashier...customer service, haha. You think I'll scare people.
